First week home....
We have been home little bit more than a week and so far so good. The past two nights Jade has slept through the night so we are hoping that we are over the hurdle of her ear infection + the jet lag. She still has a bad cough and runny nose but the dr. did not say it was anything more than just a cold. We had a few visitors (Sandy, Jody, Bill and Beth) and we took a field trip to the 3rd Street Promenade to see Todd's surf buddy Dicko at the Rip Curl store. We were very proud at our ability to change a diaper and make a bottle in a Starbucks! Jade is getting used to her surroundings....She
and Lily are developing an interesting relationship and we are trying to make sure that Jade understands "gentle" as she interacts with the cats. Kona has been hiding and watching the activities from a safe distance. Jade is interacting well with Grandma
Judith.
Jade is also getting used to all the toys that were passed on to her by Sabrina, Jessica and Melissa. Since the most she has ever had were small plastic items such as rings and balls, she looks at everything with wonderment, amazement and excitement.
Most important, she has already heard several Beatles albums and spent several hours enjoying Singing In The Rain (she was very patient with her mother's singing and dancing). Best of all, she has made her first public appearance in her Dodgers hat!

Todd and Emma -- we have been keeping up with Jade's first weeks with you -- and it warms our hearts to see the wonderful photos with her new family and friends.
We can't wait to meet her and to give you both a big in-person hug!
What a lovely Thanksgiving gift!
Love, Steve and Sheila
