Tis the season.....

The week before Christmas was filled with visitors. Jade was visited by Sandy and Beth and Julia. Well the holidays have been low key...mostly because we are all tired! Jade finally got over her ear infection which meant we started her re-vacination process (which led to several days of a fever of approx. 101). Plus, two new teeth breaking through (her first teeth) have added to the fun. Lastly, I'm heading back to work on January 2nd and I admit I am having trouble with that one. Unfortunately Jade had a fever on the first night of Hanukah, so we were not able to go to S.J. and Ed's for dinner. But we were able to see them on x-mas eve and Jade received a wonderful polar bear that she loves! My camera broke x-mas morning so we only have a few pictures. We had breakfast with Bill, Skip and Sophie (aka the cutest puppy in the world). Jade recently figured ou that her sunglasses block the sun so she doesn't have to cry when she has the sun in her eyes when she is in her car seat. Good news - we received Jade's certificate of citizenship in the mail on December 22nd. I went to the social security office on December 26th to turn in the papers to get her a social security #. We should have it in 2 weeks. Last thing that we have been told to do is a "re-adoption". That would permit us to get her a California Birth Certificate with us listed as Jade's parents. It is a document we will need to enroll her in school. Our cat Lily seems to be very interested in all things relating to Jade. She sits close by at all times and I even found her curled up in the crib with Jade today at nap time. Our other cat Kona still has her doubts about the new "hairless kitten". So all is well. Jade is doing new and interesting things everyday for which Todd and I can't take any credit! Tomorrow we are going to be visited by Sheila and Steve who are waiting for their travel approval to head to Guangzhou to get their daughter Erin. Then Jade will have another playmate!
